Amato Appointed to National Emergency Medicine Posts


Christopher S. Amato, MD, FAAP, FACEP, attending pediatric emergency physician at Morristown (N.J.) Medical Center, has been appointed to the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) Education Committee and its 2013 Advanced Pediatric Emergency Medicine Assembly Planning Task Force.

Dr. Amato’s terms will begin in October at ACEP’s annual Scientific Assembly in Denver.

Dr. Amato is an assistant professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Mount Sinai School of Medicine; director of the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship at Morristown Medical Center; attending pediatric physician at Goryeb Children’s Hospital, Morristown, NJ; and medical director of pediatric advanced life support for Atlantic Health System. He is also the past chair of the pediatric section of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP). 

He is a researcher in the field of pediatric emergency medicine and is a frequent lecturer on pediatric emergency medicine topics. Dr. Amato was voted by New Jersey parents as a “Favorite Kids Doc” in 2009, 2010 and 2011.
