Dennis Cochrane, MD, FACEP

Dennis Cochrane, MD, FACEP, Vice President Informatics and Practice Automation, was a founding member of Emergency Medical Associates in 1977. He has overseen the original development and implementation of numerous software projects, including the EDIMS tracking/charting system, the EMA web-based scheduling system, and most recently a system for implementing web-based chart reviews. He has published extensively in the area of informatics and biosurveillance.

He is an attending physician and faculty in the Emergency Medicine Residency at Morristown (N.J.) Medical Center. He has also had extensive administrative experience, including 17 years as an ED Director and multiple board and executive positions within EMA. He is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and a founding member of the International Society for Disease Surveillance. In 2007 he chaired the first National Quality Forum Technical Advisory Panel on Standardizing Emergency Department Performance Measures. He was named one of the “ACEP Heroes of Emergency Medicine” in 2008.

       
  Dr. Cochrane received his undergraduate degree from Reed College in Portland, Ore. He completed his medical degree and internal medicine residency at the University of Minnesota. He is certified in Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine and the subspecialty of Hyperbaric Medicine.  cochraned@emamd.com
