Drs. Fontanetta and Freer Nominated as "Top Doctors" in NJ Monthly magazine

Emergency Medical Associates (EMA) physicians John Fontanetta, MD, FACEP, chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Clara Maass Medical Center, Belleville, N.J, and Christopher Freer, DO, FACEP, chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston, N.J, were nominated by their peers as exceptional emergency physicians in New Jersey Monthly magazine’s “Top Doctors” edition.

The ballots were cast from the New Jersey physician community with more than 2,900 physicians participating in the selection process.

Dr. Fontanetta joined Emergency Medical Associates in 1998. He is a member of the New Jersey Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians. Dr. Fontanetta was a Presidential Scholar and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Fordham University in the Bronx, N.Y. He received his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College in New York City, completed his internal medicine residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, and his fellowship in pulmonary medicine at Albert Einstein College of Medicine's Bronx Municipal Hospital Center. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Emergency Medicine and American Board of Internal Medicine, and a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians

Dr. Freer joined Emergency Medical Associates in 1998. He is a member of the New Jersey Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians. Dr. Freer received his undergraduate degree at University of Delaware, and his medical degree from University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey's School of Osteopathic Medicine, Stratford, N.J. He completed his residency in emergency medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, where he was chief resident. He is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and the American Academy of Emergency Physicians.
