Nurse Training Academy
This 5-hour nurse leadership development and training session combines classroom lecture, case study group exercises and team presentations to share knowledge and explore solutions. Past topics include the role of the ED charge nurse and how to train team members for such a role, and identifying strategies and solutions for improving patient throughput.
Physician Assistant Academy
EMA requires that all physician assistants who are new graduates or new to the field of emergency medicine complete our AP academy in the first 2 to 3 months of their employment.
The academy includes 3 components:
- A 26‐hour online EM Boot Camp offered through the Center for Medical Education
- A 4‐Day Intensive Workshop at EMA’s corporate headquarters – Offered quarterly, this includes lectures regarding communication skills and patient flow management, as well as practicums in suturing, orthopedics, EKG, radiology review, lumbar puncture, central line placement and an eye practicum.
- 40 hours of 1-to-1 coaching during clinical shifts by trained coaches
EMAMD1™ - EMS Fellowship and Emergency Response Program
EMA helped develop EMAMD1™, the first emergency medicine physician fellowship program in New Jersey. This fellowship provides advanced training for emergency medicine physicians to enable them to become physician-directors of EMS programs at hospitals and health systems. Learn more
