Emergency Medical Associates (EMA) provides high-quality, unscheduled patient care to nearly 1 million patients annually in New Jersey, New York, North Carolina and Rhode Island. We employ approximately 400 emergency physicians, more than 200 associate practitioners, and more than 60 primary care/internal medicine/hospitalist physicians serving our client hospitals and ambulatory care centers.
Our expertise covers academic university hospitals with ED residency programs, community hospitals, trauma centers, rural hospitals, independent non-profit hospitals and private multi-specialty groups. We serve clients within the following hospital systems: Atlantic Health, Barnabas Health, CharterCARE, Catholic Health East, Health Alliance of the Hudson Valley, Liberty Health System and NewYork Presbyterian Healthcare System.
EMA-staffed sites have annual emergency department volumes ranging from 19,000 to more than 86,000 patients per year. Our hospitalist division, Inpatient Medical Associates, manages one pediatric hospitalist program and three adult hospitalist programs at several premier tri-state hospitals.
