Ivan Miller, MD, FACEP-Treasurer, joined Richmond University Medical Center in September, 2007 as Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine. Dr. Miller previously served as the interim Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine at St. Vincent’s Medical Center-Manhattan Division. Dr Miller’s professional interests include emergency department performance improvement and patient safety and community outreach on a local, regional and international level. Dr Miller is a member of the Disaster Preparedness Committee of the Richmond County Medical Society. He lives in New York City with his wife, Micah Rafferty, and their six year-old daughter, Lila. |

Dr Miller has been affiliated with Emergency Medical Associates (EMA) since 2002. He is a member of EMA’s Board of Directors, in addition to both the Audit Committee and the Practice Affairs Committee. Dr. Miller received his undergraduate degree at the University of Rochester, Rochester NY and his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, NY. He completed a combined residency in Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine at Long Island Jewish Medical Center and Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New Hyde Park, NY. He is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians as well as a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and a member of the Society of Academic Emergency Medicine, the American College of Physicians and the Academy of Emergency Medicine India. milleri@emamd.com
