John Bertolini, MD, FACEP

John Bertolini, MD, FACEP, Chief Executive Officer, joined Emergency Medical Associates (EMA) in 1996 as the ED Director at Union Hospital. He was named CEO in 2015.

He served on the Board of Directors from 1998 until 2007. As Regional Vice President from 2007 to 2015, he was responsible for the operational and financial performance for all of EMA's New York client hospitals and the Barnabas Health hospitals in New Jersey. He has demonstrated the ability to work effectively and develop lasting relationships with providers , hospital staff and senior hospital administrators. 

     
  Dr. Bertolini received his undergraduate degree at Trinity College in Hartford, Conn., and his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington D.C. He completed his internship in general surgery at Hartford (Conn.) Hospital and his residency in emergency medicine at the Georgetown/George Washingtion University combined program in Washington D.C. He is a member of the both the New York and New Jersey chapters of the American College of Emergency Physicians and the American College of Physician Executives. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Emergency Medicine and is a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. bertolinij@emamd.com
