John Reed, MD, FACEP

John J. Reed, MD, FACEP, chair of the Emergency Department at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton, N.C., joined Emergency Medical Associates in 2012. Prior to joining Emergency Medical Associates, Dr. Reed was medical director for Cumberland County EMS and chief of emergency medicine at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, Fayetteville, N.C. He was on staff at Martinsville (Va.) Memorial Hospital, and has worked as a contractor for the United States Army at Fort Bragg.

Dr. Reed is the medical director for Robeson County EMS and a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. He is a member of the North Carolina College of Emergency Physicians, Cumberland County Medical Society and the National Tactical Officers Association.

       
  Dr. Reed holds a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Duke University and a medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine, Washington D.C. He completed his emergency medicine residency at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. reedj@ema.net
