Michael A. Bernstein, MD, MBA, joined Emergency Medical Associates (EMA) in 2007. Dr. Bernstein is the director of the Emergency Department at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Rahway, where he is also an attending physician. He previously served as EMA's emergency department site director at Capital Health System's Fuld and Mercer campuses in Trenton, N.J. He also served as the associate director of the Fuld Campus.

     
 

Dr. Bernstein is a member of the New Jersey Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians, American Academy of Emergency Medicine and the American Medical Association. He is a member of EMA's Audit Committee. He serves as medical advisor of the Avenel-Colonia First Aid Squad Inc., and is a clinical instructor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

He received his undergraduate degree at Washington University in St. Louis, and his medical degree at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Yeshiva University, Bronx, N.Y. Dr. Bernstein received his master's degree in business administration from J. L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Evanston, Ill. He completed his transitional year internship at Saint Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center in New York City, and completed a combined residency in Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New York City. bernsteinm@emamd.com
