Serbin Honored with American College of Healthcare Executives Early Career Healthcare Executive Regent’s Award


Scott Serbin, director of education and research at Emergency Medical Associates in Livingston, N.J., received the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) Early Career Healthcare Executive Regent’s Award.

The Early Career Healthcare Executive Regent’s Award recognizes ACHE affiliates who have significantly contributed toward the advancement of healthcare management excellence and the achievement of the goals of ACHE. Affiliates are evaluated on leadership ability; innovative and creative management; executive capability in developing their own organization and promoting its growth and stature in the community; participation in local, state or provincial hospital and health association activities; participation in civic/community activities and projects; participation in ACHE activities and interest in assisting ACHE in achieving its objectives.

Serbin joined Emergency Medical Associates in 2000 and is responsible for the development of internal and external provider education programs, including the successful Advanced Emergency and Acute Care Medicine Conference, which is held in Atlantic City each September. He works with the company's client hospitals to develop and support emergency department-specific service line objectives, and hospital marketing, public relations and community outreach initiatives.
Serbin holds a bachelor's degree in education from East Stroudsburg (Pa.) University, and bachelor's degree in communications from William Paterson University, Wayne, N.J. He is membership chair of the American College of Emergency Physicians-NJ Chapter, a board member of the Hospital Planning and Marketing Society of New Jersey and a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Serbin received the award Jan. 27 at the annual ACHE breakfast meeting in Princeton, NJ.
