Shih Presents Research at the Pan-Pacific Emergency Medicine Congress (PEMC)

Richard D. Shih, MD, FACEP, FAAEM, presented three research posters and gave two lectures at the 2012 Pan-Pacific Emergency Medicine Congress (PEMC), held Oct. 23-Oct. 26 in Seoul, Korea.

The presentations were entitled:

  • “QTC Prolongation and Torsade’s in Bupropion Overdoses Presenting to US Emergency Departments”
  • “Successful use of Emergent Endovascular Aneurysm Repair for a Ruptured Hypotensive Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm” 
  • “Glycine Induced Hyperammonemia After Bladder Rupture During Transurethral Resection of a Bladder Tumor”

The lectures were entitled:

  •  “Emergency Medicine Core Curriculum”
  •  “EM Maintenance of Certification-Why All the Fuss”

Dr. Shih is the residency director for the department of emergency medicine at Morristown (N.J.) Medical Center.
