Vijay Akkapeddi, MD, FACEP, FAAEM, joined Emergency Medical Associates of New Jersey in 2007. Dr. Akkapeddi is the Medical Director of the Emergency Department at Christ Hospital, Jersey City, NJ.
He is a professional society member of the American College of Emergency Physicians, American Academy of Emergency Medicine, Medical Society of the State of New York, American Academy of Emergency Medicine for India, American Academy of Physicians of Indian Origin, New York State Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians, and the Osmania University Medical Graduates Association.

Dr. Akkapeddi received his undergraduate degree at Osmania University, Hyderabad, India and his medical degree from Gandhi Medical College, Osmania University, Hyderabad, India. He completed his first residency in General Surgery at Harlem Hospital, New York, NY and his second residency in Emergency Medicine at Lincoln Health and Mental Health Center.
